Primeiros Passos (First Steps) is a community-based organization (CBO) established to respond to the unmet needs of the physical and mentally disabled residents of Rocinha one of the largest urban slums in the Western Hemisphere. Rocinha, with its approximately 150,000 to 200,000 inhabitants, has thousands of residents with disabilities, many of them with critical needs.
